MARCHISA. Frank M. Marchisa, 75, of 180 Route No. 6, Columbia, formerly of Manchester and Glastonbury, husband of Ellen (Toman) Marchisa, died Sunday (Feb. 14) at his home. He was born in Glastonbury Aug. 31, 1912, and had lived in Glastonbury and Manchester before moving to Columbia in 1949. Prior to retirement he had been Employed by Pratt & Whitney Division of UTC, East Hartford. Mr. Marchisa was a veteran of World War Il serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Columbus Church, Columbia. He also was a foster grandparent at the Mansfield Training School 5 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Frank J. Marchisa Jr. of Fla., and Thomas A. Marchisa of Columbia, Md.; a daughter, Mrs. William (Rose) Bednarz of Huntington; two sisters, Elvira Saglio of Hebron, and Inez Lombardi of Manchester; four granddaughters; and a grandson. A mass of Christian burial will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Augustine's Church, Glastonbury. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, Glastonbury. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, the Windham Hospice c/o 'Windham Community Hospital, or the Community Health Service of Columbia. The Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
