When Frank Michael Marchisa was born on August 31, 1912 in Glastonbury, CT, his father, Flavio, was 29 and his mother, Anna, was 23. Frank worked on his mother's farm until 1940 at which point he went to work for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford CT. Frank was drafted into WWII in 1942 and spent the war years in near London, England caring for wounded soldiers. Frank married Ellen Jane Toman on April 27, 1942, in Manchester, Connecticut. They had three children during their marriage, Frank Jr., Tom, and Rose. Frank was a very skilled mandolinist and played with a band before WWII and then with friends and family afterwards. Frank volunteered at the Mansfield State Training School after retirement. Frank died on February 14, 1988, in Columbia, Connecticut, at the age of 75, and was buried in Glastonbury, Connecticut.
